Stove Hood Vent...necessary?

The hardest part was locating the last of the "Dusk" Corian (discontinued) to fabricate the matching countertop ...

I have always thought I'd use Formica to re-do my passenger side counters (after noting how heavy just the tiny Corian strips surrounding the range were -- don't even ask about the sink counter (!), but it would still be nice to know what color mine is in case I change my mind. I looked up Dusk and I see that's granite-y. Mine is basically just plain white, but heaven knows what sort of evocative name it actually has (and how many "whites" there are....). Anyone know?

I took a "chunk" of mine to a local solid surface fabricator (shop that makes countertops). That's how I found out the name and the fact it was discontinued with nothing even coming close being available. I then joined a site which is for builders who sell off remnants of solid surface materials on-line. One supplier in Connecticut had enough random pieces of Dusk, so I purchased all he had for my new top. And a bit extra for a possible new bath sink top...

I took mine out and relocated the tank monitor into a handmade case. The light and fan switches are operational but repurposed.

The hood I was referring to is the Dometic CK-150. Looks like so:



They also make one with a bit more of a "hood" on the interior. Nice rounded sleek stainless. I could see cases where a hood would be good to have (vs. the sleeker flush grille this one has).

Blue...finally located a "caravan accessories supplier" from the UK on eBay. They can offer the Dometic CK150 hood vent for $415 (shipped)...!!!!
I agree that the CK150 is the slickest out of the lot....but, 400 bucks is a bit much for gizmo I may or may not need, IMHO. For now, this mod is on "the back burner"....

Well see, now the Ocean Air looks completely reasonable at $88 The way to make relatively expensive marine parts look more economical is to look at even more expensive ones

(They really should sell that Dometic stateside - I tried to get an Australian dealer to ship me one because the exchange rate was more favorable, but wasn't successful.)

Yup! Deal is the Chinook has to be present and you have to ski at least one run.
