dash board changes

Can anyone tell me when the odometer reading was changed from the old style mechanical display to the lcd(?) display? I saw this question on another site and so far no answers, so I thought I"d ask on this site, which I trust as a place to go for solid information. Thanks!

Which decade are you referring to? Ford has bounced back and forth since the 90s.
