Hello everyone.
Has anyone installed 235/85/16 tires on their Chinook Concourse?
It looks like there is plenty of clearance to install that size tire.

If you looked at the link I mentioned above, you will see that at least 3 members have the larger tires. 69camaro, mark, and deppstein among others. Does that answer your question? I think all of them have the rig converted to 6X6, but I do not remember all the posts.

I looked through all 4 pages of the link you sent me, although the tire size was mentioned many times most of the posts were just like mine, asking if anyone knew if that size tire fit a stock Chinook. Unless I missed it I don't remember seeing anyone say yes I have that size tire on my rig. Maybe my reading comprehension sucks and the answer was right in front of me. I really don't think what I asked was a tough question. All I was hoping for was someone to say yes I run those tires on my rig. I thought these forums is where people come to help each other out.

The Toyo AT3 is the tire I'm looking at. A 235/85/16 size is 32/9.25/16 and the stock 225/75/16 is 29/8.86/16 so that means
the Toyo is 3 inches taller and not quite a half inch wider. Looking at my rig it looks like there is plenty of room. It would have
been great to have someone confirm my thoughts.

Everyone that I have noticed here on the forum who runs 235/85r16's have their vehicle raised in some way, either 4wd or 2wd. At work we run the 225/75r16s on the e350's. Wish I had first hand knowledge about stuffing the 235/85r16 in a stock 2wd. I want to say it would have clearance issues. Do you have access to any friends with 235/85r16s already mounted you could try swapping on for a test fit? or possible find a decent used take out to test fit or even if the tire shop would be willing to mount one and try test fitting for clearance on your rig?

My rig is a 2WD Baja. it has a winch bumper on it so there shouldn't be any clearance issues with the bumper.
I took my rig to my local tire shop and 2 of their top guys looked at my rig and said they thought there was
enough clearance for the 235/85/16 tire. I'm taking my rig to Ujoint off road for the 4x4 conversion, after
that is complete I will have plenty clearance.
