Owner thoughts please

We are on the look-out for a Destiny model, more storage and the bigger bath.
But we have seen online available Glacier models, like 4 or 5 available. Do to a $ 7000 dollar repair to a slide in a travel trailer we had, I swore off for life anything with a slide. That Glacier sure has a NICE layout, but there is that slide.
Owner thoughts please.

No a Destiny owner, but I do see people with issue when it come to slides. The larger rigs are also more complicated too. You may also want to go to the facebook page and see if there are any owner opinion there (more Destiny owner there). However, I think you will see more positive opinion on these forums due to the intrinsic bias we have. If you ask the ex-Chinook owners, they may give you a different tone.

These rigs are at least 15 years old right now so assume repairs/upgrades be needed at some point. Also, parts may or may not be available.

Thanks for the suggestion about Facebook, I am not one to post pictures and a day by day accounting of my life to the world ( Facebook ). So far I am unable to get into that group " private " and "" controlled "" by someone. NOT socializing my life to the world. Thanks for the reply though.

I understand. It is more of a place to post random questions more than a good media to find any answer. I would say 95% of the time people on facebook asks the same question that someone asked in past few months. The format is not very useful if you just want to search an existing answer that someone posted before. This forum is much better for that, I believe.

They do have a larger portion of their users who owns newer, bigger rigs, however. This is why I suggest you to take a look if you already have a facebook account.

You are correct that repairs on the Glacier slide can be expensive. More than $3,000 to repair the slide bladder. The most common repair issue. And, the new slide bladder repair requires a new slide manifold. More dollars.
However, that said, the Glacier is fully accessible with the slide retracted. Especially the club chair model. Side door, dry bath, raised walk through to drivers area, larger inverter, etc. are nice features.
In summary, the Glacier is a nice motorhome without using the slide.
The Destiny is Chevy based. The Glacier is Ford based.
