Was looking to go to an East Coast beach for a few days and was looking at either Cape Hatteras
National Seashore or Virginia Beach, like First Landing Park. Any advice or maybe someplace different?

Re: East Coast Beaches
Last December I went to Myrtle Beach for a few days and I was pleasantly surprised how nice the area was. I stayed at MB State Park and then moved to Pirateland Campgrounds because winter rates were half price for full hookups and cable. It was about $32 a night. I would expect MB to be a mad house for the next couple of weeks then settle into the off-season pace.
If you make it to the Outer Banks I would appreciate a review of the area. I've looked at the ferry schedules and it seems it would be a great experience.
Topsail Hill Preserve State Park located a few miles east of Destin, Florida is the nicest beach and RV facilities I've found so far. I went there last May and really enjoyed the park. I'm still exploring the East Coast beaches.

Thanks. I believe that the Outer Banks State parks close between 10/15 and 10/31, depending on the park. Was hoping to hit on of them before that happens. I know there are campgrounds, but wanted to try a park first.
