4x4 conversion
Just started the 4x4 conversion on my 2000 7.3 diesel concourse. I have a lot of work at the shop right now so this will probably progress slowly. So far the axle has been rebuilt(new 4.10 gears limit slip and inner axle seals). Also added a mag hytec cover. Axle is now hanging with coil springs, radius arm brackets and arms installed.. Mark in San Diego

Nice! Looking forward to seeing the process.
edit: I know its only your first post so im going to hold the questions for now to see if you answer them later. But am interested to know about those radius arms and frame hugging brackets.

Always fun to watch your work!
I wanted to get the Mag Hytek cover last time I had my differential serviced, but they were not sure it would clear the Roadmaster anti-sway bar (and I was not positioned to try it and come back to the shop at that point in time), so I had them put the original cover back on. I've always wondered if it might fit though. (I have original 2WD, 4.10 LS.)

You can purchase those brackets and arms brand new from Quigley. Many Quigley parts are obsolete/discontinued but these are currently still available. Mark

Oh that's slick! and it utilizes the factory spring tower and shock mount. That looks way cleaner than the SK leaf spring setup......markatherton wrote: July 2nd, 2019, 8:13 am You can purchase those brackets and arms brand new from Quigley. Problem is you need a Quigley front axle to mate up to the end brackets on the radius arms. They are designed together. I normally get the entire set up by parting out a Quigley van. They are more accessible in the "rust belt". Tougher to find here on the west coast.

Went into he shop this morning and welded in the Quigley crossmember reinforcement braces. Then trimmed the crossmember for clearance for the dana 60 front axle.

Re: 4x4 conversion
Looking forward to see how this turns out! I have the opportunity to snag a Quigley donor with only 60k on it for cheap but I've talked to a few people and they all say a coil front on a rig our size is not good. Chris at ujoint actually stopped selling the coil front end design option he had from MG Metalworks because they were having death wobble issues when they installed it on anything bigger then a rb 5.4 van.

Quigley converted several coil spring as well as leaf spring chinooks. I also have a 2002 diesel coil spring Quigley van and it drives like a Cadillac.
