Could someone with a Premier measure upper cabinets for me?

Post by Blue~Go »

Hi Folks,

I'm wondering if someone (or someones) with a Premier that has the "straight" cabinets could measure the height and depth (to the wall) for me.

Here is a photo showing the two measurements I am after.

Thanks!

I thought I'd add a better photo (which includes a bonus third measurement).

Thanks again to anyone who can take the time to measure this for me.

Mine's in the shop for repairs right now and I don't anticipate getting it back for a while - however I'll be visiting the shop to discuss repair options hopefully sometime soon - if no one else has got back to you I'll take some measurements when I next have access to mine.

Thank you, Andrew. If we don't see any measurements here in the thread before you visit your Chinook, I would be much obliged if you'd take some.

Thanks again!

I hope nobody minds me "bumping" this back up to active status. I am still looking for these measurements and just wondering if anyone with a Premier might be able to get them for me.

Thanks!

BG

PS: Reason I'm asking is that I'm putting in some new upper cabinets, and I'm thinking I might like the "vertical" fronts better (such as in the Premier). I can see from photos that they "land" further outboard on the ceiling, but I don't know whether they just went straight up from where the Concourse cabinets turn the corner, or if they kind of "split the difference" and made them a bit deeper at the bottom and shallower at the top. I'd like to know since they obviously "work." It's harder to tell just from "CAD."

Have you asked deppstein (from the Montana and Wyoming thread)? He's got a Premier. Yah, newer generation but I'd bet the boxes are the same size.

Just to follow up. I saw from the inspiring project photos in another thread that "deppstein's" upper cabinets are the sloped ones, same as the Concourse (seems some of the later Premiers had these). So that was out.

Then I asked the question over on the Yahoo! group and Stephen there kindly got the measurements for me. I figured I'd post back to this thread to let you all know I've got them now, and... I might as well add them here for posterity/future readers.

So...

A note is that compared to the Concourse cabinets, the Premier ones over the dinette and couch don't just "cut straight up" where the Concourse ones angle. Rather, the Premier ones come out from the wall around another 1-3/8" or so and then cut up. So they sort of split the difference (although the Concourse ones are still another 3-3/4" or so out at the top)

A second note has to do with the driver's side cabinets. Although I was asking about the passenger side, I'll note that whereas the over-couch cabinet on the Concourse just continues right on through the kitchen area to the shower wall, in the Premier there is a section of differently sized cabinet over the sink. That one is 14-1/8" tall and 15-5/8" deep (none of these measurements include the 1/8" or so for trim).
