Chinook rear entry bumper prices

I just ordered parts for my rear bumper and tire carrier from ASAP metal. Thought I would share the breakdown in case anyone else needs parts. Mark in San Diego

Which style bumper is this?

My guess it is for the original. They are about $3k.

I understand its the original bumper.... the problem is there are different Chinooks as in different models, different years which all had different bumpers. Not to be a dick, but its not a one size fits all topic. I read the order reciept but it doesnt show a model year or anything about the vehicle.
Not that it really matters, just trying to clarify. For instance the bumper on my 2005 Concourse is not the same bumper that is on a 1999 Concourse.

I'd guess that the later bumper (that looks more like a molded "car" bumper and is painted to match the Chinook body) is probably fiberglass? Whereas the earlier one like on my '99 is clearly made up of metal pieces put together. But you have a good point - it would be good to know the year range. Mine is mostly chromed and I have seen the similar year Premier's are painted white.

I was curious if those two end pieces, which total about $1,000 and apparently don't come chromed or painted, are the "cake pans"? If so that seems incredible. The rest of the pieces are really sturdy and nicely engineered and made, so I wouldn't begrudge the money for those (although... glad I don't need a new one today).

But maybe it is a different type of bumper?

My 2005 is fiberglass on both sides.

Okay, well I'm sure Mark will confirm, but I think ASAP basically does metal fabrication, so therefore his quote must be the earlier bumper style (maybe that went to 2002 or so?). The bumper sides don't look like painted and formed bodywork, the way the later ones (like yours) do.

I'm also going to guess it is for the manual step (like my '99 has), since it says "fold down step assembly." The power steps slide out, don't they? My manual step folds down - or up to lie on the top step (and become an alternate top step for if you don't fold it down but want to keep it folded up and still go in and out).

I felt it was easier to ask than to make assumptions, im not good at the whole Sherlock Holmes thing and having to methodically scrutinize a post in order to garner what one would consider the most rudimentary aspects of a subject. But thats just me, i get that way sometimes, not to be rude or anything its just the way my brain works i guess.

I was mostly adding in the info about the various bumper styles because it might be helpful for future readers. Some folks only know their one Chinook and not know of various changes.
