Chinook 4x4 7.3 Diesel

Hello, I just purchased a Chinook Concourse 4x4 with a 7.3 PSD . This seems to be a very unusual drivetrain combination ? While searching the Web I think that I might have only found 2 others ?
Any information on Chinooks with similar drive trains would be Greatly Appreciated. Tom

First off, sorry for the duplicate post.
Now for the Good stuff. The Chinook was as the seller represented in his ad . So now I’m headed back to Cali. I just crossed over The Rocky Mountains @ 11,300 ft. The 7.3 PSD did it with very little concern. Now I’ll be trying to figure out all of the technical aspects of the RVs systems ? They seem to be a little different that my old RV ?
I also realized that because my new rig is a Diesel , I have a Oman Propagne Generator.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum! Chinook didn't put the 7.3 in tons of them, and then also not many were 4x4, so the combination is rare, I'd think. (I don't remember now if yours was 4x4 as new or converted later.) Sounds like a rare bird in any case.

I don't see what year yours is (if you add it to your signature it's very helpful as it will show up in all of your posts), but we have a sub-forum here called "Reference" and in it you will find copies of the Chinook manuals for many of the years. Even if you don't find your exact year, take a look at surrounding years. They did a good job of illustrating the systems (e.g. plumbing layout, etc.) Of course appliances and etc. are fairly common to RV's in general.

Of course there's also lots of info here in past threads, plus new threads are welcome too. Ask away.

And... we pretty much just enjoy seeing other Chinooks, plus hearing about travels, projects, and ideas.

You have a very rare bird. Do you know who did the conversion and when it was done? Is it a front leaf spring conversion or coil spring conversion? Love to see pics.....

It has a Salem-Kroger Conversion. So I believe that is came that way from Trail ways ?
Mine is a 2001.
Now if I could figure out how to get water into the holding tanks ? It doesn’t seem to want to fill ?
Ps, I just crossed over The Rocky’s and was able to get 13.7 mpg. Next stop Arches NP.

Take a look at the manual. The one for filling the holding tank is under the lockable cover. The brass threaded connector with a screen is for city water. The one to the right of it goes straight down to the holding tank. There is a hose connector at the corner of the Chinook, and that is for flushing the black tank. It won't fill the holding tank.

Thanks Chin, I have had several RV’s but for some reason I couldn’t get water to fill the Tanks ! It kept pouring back out the fill line ? Almost as if the tank was full ? Maybe I was parked at a Bad angle?
