Jus’ did 2,500mi trip in my sweet Sidedoor entry

Post by Hollis87 »

I just did a 2,500mi trip from Cali thru Nevada, Idaho and Montana! It was amazing. I’ve been upgrading this sweet 1995 Chinook for the past 3 months and it’s a beautiful thang! It ran 100% great up and over the continental divide twice, zero issues. I added a quart of oil after 1,500mi. That’s it! I had it 40 miles off road down the dirt road into remote mountains, all over the place. Next thing I’m doing is going to Mexico for a full custom paint job. Any suggestions for RV painting shops along the boarder would be welcome! If I was rich, I’d have a 4x4 kit put on it... :D

Very cool! Thanks for posting. I like the pictures, and that shepherd is a beast!
Have fun in Mexico. Please let us know how that goes.

That's quite a trip. Some very beautiful shots. Appreciate the pics! No help on the paint but my Dad did have dental work done across the border at Yuma. ;)

How did you manage the Shepherd with the heat? I travel with 2 but prefer during the cool/cold months (unless there's a really cool weird festival) because I worry about the generator failing or something while I'm out sightseeing.
