Oh and we made a friend in Bella Coola who was nice enough to pose for a photo.

You would not have the mouse problem if you met your friend earlier.

Lol. I can't imagine the chaos that would ensue in such a small enclosed space.

Glad to report that we still have not had another mouse problem!
Though while cleaning the cabinet over the dinette out I decided to try to track down a semi faint smell and after pulling up the bottom of the cabinet found a long dead mouse. Probably a couple years old.
For projects I decided to tackle the really loud drivers compartment.
I poked around under the camper and found the back two exhaust manifold bolts sheered off. There is not really any access and no way to replace them without pulling the motor. The transmission noise was also very loud. So after pulling the disgusting carpet and finding only a little bit of old brittle sound deadening I decided to go all in. As usual I did not take any before photos.
I removed the seats, old carpet and the few patched of old sound deadening. I also pulled the dog house and found very little sound deadening there.
I used a combination of thick mats and thin mats to get as much covered as possible.

I also lined the dog house cover with sound deadening – the stuff I used is heat rated. I did retain and reinstall the heat shield.
We topped it off with a thick and plush carpet.
All said and done there was a significant decrease in sound in the cab. The new carpet really helped add a newer nicer feel to the cab.
There is still a fair amount of sound coming from the fiberglass cab over piece. Also our side entry door doesn’t fit right and makes a fair amount of noise – replacing the door is one of my next projects.

With a diesel that would be mandatory. I wish I was able to do more on the firewall but didn't want to tear the dash completely apart.
