I don't remember if mine goes all the way to the rear corner aft of the shower or not (I might be able to look at some old photos though and see), but the rest of the route is just as BobW described. Definitely "over the river and through the woods (to voltage drop we go!."

I have a post from back in 2015 that details how to remove things to get to the wire chase in the upper cabinets. It's not hard, just a few screws; but it was a bit of a puzzle to figure out where to start and what order to go in. Once you get that short carpet piece off (the one that runs along the outer wall inside the upper cabinet where it shortens down - piece is about 3" tall), you have the whole wire chase there. The DC wires are all in one big bundle secured with P-clips every few inches.

While you *could* probably work the wire out, I didn't even consider it. Reason is that I saw a nice bonus in having a "free" 8AWG wire running up to the front (and if you pull it up to cabover height, you will have an extra 5' or so). Haven't used it yet but it's nice knowing it is there. I have the same on the other side in the form of the original refrigerator 8AWG wire.

When I replaced the brown box I put in a Blue Sea 12 position fuse block, so that gave me three additional positions beyond the 9 in the brown box. (I also have six of that size fuse positions on my main block at the batteries under the couch.)

If I were running larger cables forward to the battery area I would run them right along the wall under the couch between the water tank and the wall. Use good loom to protect from chafe and some securing isn't a bad idea either. MUCH shorter run, by like, miles. And due to voltage drop, every inch counts in 12-volt systems (which you already know I imagine).

Along those lines, although I still have the original chassi grounds for some things, I ran both positive and negative for most of the large or new circuits.
