Oh nice. My buddy is thinking of relocating up there as his wife has had many job offers from Boeing.

Not to be a Debbie Downer but we are glad to be away from the Seattle metro area as the traffic is horrendous and the city is becoming a magnet for homeless camps. In addition the city is imposing taxes on everything they can. That said Washington is a beautiful state with a lot to see and do.

Like chin_k I value privacy, particularly when personal data mining by Facebook and their online ilk has become pervasive. So just the basic snapshot: grew up in the Australian Outback, graduated in Chemistry from the University of Queensland, came to the States for post-doc research at Bell Labs, lived in Japan for Industrial R&D management, returned to setup an Academic alliance with UCSB then retired to AZ.

Hobbies include motorcycles, mechanics, photography, hiking and rock climbing. The Chinook has become a convenient enabler to continue these from a luxurious base camp now advancing years have placed a higher priority on creature comforts.

Thanks Scott; I was quite the adrenaline junkie in foolhardy youth. I have removed the album link from my post above at the request of my better half who was uncomfortable with such exposure. Now if only I can get her to quit the Facebook obsession
