Well as you can see in my photos, this doesn't exactly mean I'm Einstein
It was fairly obvious.
I guess once (if) you put the original handle back on, your screw will no longer be loose, so there is that
(Or was the added handle something interestingly better?)

The handle that is on it works fine but I've only put the awning down one time. I'll have to try the other handle, and make sure that screw is no longer loose.

Crank to extend your awning is what it looks like and if that is not it, check your tire jack and see if the crank handle is there.
