Questions to ask when purchasing a Chinook

Post by twotravelers »

Hi,
We are downsizing and will go look at a Chinook this afternoon. Can you long-time (or short-time) Chinook owners give us some ideas for questions we should ask? We have never seen a Chinook in person but have heard they are very well made. Are there weak spots or trouble spots we should ask about?
Thank you for any ideas you can give us.
It is a 2000 Concourse.

What I found wrong on mine.
Plugs and wires needed replacing. The check engine light wasn't on because he had just replaced the battery, but had I driven just a little more, I would have felt the miss and saw the light.
Roof AC wouldn't come on
Water pump would come on but not produce pressure.
Needed an oil change.
I knew about the later 3 when I bought it. The miss/plugs was a little bit if a surprise.

I found some check list online to run through when evaluating any RV. Maybe others can suggest specific chinook gotchas other than the ford v10 spark issue.
