Yes, I got them from MG. IIRC, they were $350 apiece (not including any shipping), and of course I got two to go with the two seats. That said, I felt the design and fabrication of them was worth every penny (and then some!). Very, very nice pieces of kit. I almost wanted to keep one of the bases, get a glass top for it, and make it a coffee table

Just for various reasons, I decided to stay with the stock (well, Flexsteel) seats. Number one being the power adjustment capability for the driver's seat. Not that I need power for fore-and-aft adjustment, but without it there is no adjustment for raising/lowering the seat, nor for raising front/lowering back of seat cushion. I wanted to maintain that ability. Even when seats are set perfect for me, I sometimes like to work the adjustments a bit on a longer trip, just for variety.

I can totally see having one for a passenger seat, especially with the door right behind it and the fact that you like to keep the cab open to the rig. And the driver's seat too if you don't need the adjustments. If you got the seats for $400 a pair, that was a really good deal. I paid something like $750, and that was picking them up (would have been more to have them shipped). Again, a quality item that seemed worth the price, but just didn't end up working out for what I wanted. And when something I wasn't sure about was worth ~$1500 (and taking up a bunch of space in storage), I decided to forego them (plus figured if I changed my mind at a later date I could buy another set).

So, I still have the Flexsteel cab seats, and at least for now, a smaller automobile seat as my "forward chair" in the living room. It swivels and moves fore-and-aft like the club chair did, plus the back is adjustable and it has arms and a headrest (which the club chair did not). I mounted it on the stock platform and swivel. Instead of a footrest I have the edge of the couch or a stool It's a working mock up

We're back! From sunny, 65deg San Diego to snowy New England Funny not to have the Chinook out in the driveway and have a long list of tasks to get done on her haha. Going to use the month home without her to work on getting a couple motorcycle projects I have completed and ready to sell come spring. Using that money to fund more Chinook mods!

We left the Chinook in good hands with Jeremy at Weldtec designs, going to be installing a 6" lift he makes for the e350s. Will be all custom made springs to the specific weight of our rig as well as custom valved fox shocks. This should not only give us the ground clearance we wanted for the dirt roads, but it should also ride much better over the stock suspension. Super excited to pick her up next month, although I won't have much time to explore new places on the way home, just going to have to book it cross country.

Boondocked most places we went, downtown Nashville, Austin, El Paso, Page AZ, and Ventura. Visited Bryce NP, Zion NP, and Yosemite NP.

Finally splurged and paid for a site in San Diego at San Elijo State Beach, $35/no hookups put us right on the bluff over the Pacific Ocean! It was nice to wake up, run down the stairs and surf for a couple hours each morning.

There is a story there,while he is not totally remodeling the interior,(lickitysplit)rebuilding cycles,houses,etc....in the middle of the American Northeast far from legitimate surfing wave,...there he stands....wet suit on...impact drill in hand.I have encountered myself snow at Bryce in Early May,and if I had but thought to pull in my Mirrors I would not have paid perhaps the extra fee they charge wide vehicles (to close the Zion tunnel to 2 way traffic)The slot canyon in Page is a must see,but I suspect the portion of the road to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon is closed this time of year?At any rate one must Navigate bus loads of Chinese Tourists,whenever wherever...but perhaps not at this time of year as they get ready at home for family,firecrackers,and New Year Banquets.In Summer getting a spot in San Elijo,is a fair challenge but once in you can wait in line at dawn for the gate to open and score another day due to the handful of daily no show cancellations.As for waves,I prefer the Surf Beach north by Pendleton...Did you get to Yosemite by way of Death Valley?,doesn't take much to jam that road thru the mountains in Summer,and hard to get so close to the Presidential Grove without viewing those otherworldly Trees.Or for that matter before Yosemite,the incredible Bristtlecones.The Interstates are for cars and trucks,Why travel America any other way but the Backroads. This trip i left my boards at home because I didn't want them sitting atop the camper for the whole time it was at Weldtec. I rented a board when I arrived in San Diego. As for the wetsuit, I try to hang it to dry as soon as i get out the water, then I store it in a tupperware bin in the bottom of the closet. Maybe i'll start another thread for my travels in the trip talk.

Haha. Im still mad I had to pay the extra fee in Zion! I was 99% sure i was under 7'10" wide that they charge for but i didn't have the solid number off hand. So to not inconvenience everyone behind me to have the lady come out to measure i just payed the fee. As soon as we had to stop at the tunnel i referenced the manual and sure enough 7'7" wide! I was going to stop at the front desk but figured the money goes to the park and being it my favorite NP, i'd let it slide. We stayed in Page at the local walmart haha. I have been to the slot canyons before but skipped it this trip, Lower Antelope canyon is my favorite out of the two well known ones. Horseshoe bend is also one of my favorite stops, for me it was much better then the Grand Canyon. San Elijo is a rad little spot, had plenty of open spots this time of year. Do you mean trestles? From the highway i saw campers on right on the sand near Pendleton but couldn't figure out how to get there or info on it, do you know anything about it? Unfortunately no, we didn't cut through Death Valley as i wasn't sure i could get into Yosemite that way since the Tioga Pass was closed. I agree, backroads whenever possible!!

The beaches along the coast,can be confusing,especially keeping an eye on west coast traffic,driving back and forth,just south of San Onofre,part of the Pendleton base,Surf beach doesn't lend itself to swimming with the kids,but what a Break.

Ah, but I think 7'7" is just the body width. The tunnel measurement includes mirrors.

So it's all okay, and a useful alert for the next one of us going that way.

Too bad we can't just fold back the mirrors while going through, though
