Has anyone seen any of the new models?

New owner of 2024 Chinook Maverick. Purchased last November. Just started a 6 week trip. Still learning what this RV can do. We previously towed an Airstream but wanted a class B. They all seemed too small. This Chinook has amazing space for its size.

Hey Roundabout,
New recently retired member here. I have been looking at RV's for about 3 years. Since I have never owned an RV it is very difficult to figure out what might be the best for my family (myself, wife and 16 year old daughter). My current thought is to get something smaller like a Chinook so we can move around more easily. Which floorplan do you have and how does class b compare to your previous Airstream?
Thanks,
Derek

We have a Chinook Maverick. It is a 2 person vehicle (no seatbelt for 3rd person). Also no space for a 3rd person to sleep. Our airstream travel trailer and the Chinook Maverick is apple to oranges. We loved our airstream but were tired of towing. We have been on the road in the Chinook since Jan. 13th. We really love the ease of moving to different campsites. We spent 7 nights dry camping in Big Bend National Park. Two nights were in no generator areas, one of which was backcountry. The other 5 nights we were able to use our generator which was so easy for when we wanted to use the induction cooktop. The frig, water pump and heat all worked fine off the batteries. We have had issues but almost all RVs do, so be prepared to deal with it. On the Transit the emergency brake has a part that needs replaced, it was stuck and we had to rock the vehicle to get it to release. Had to replace windshield because rocks from the road cracked it. On the Maverick, the Dometic bathroom fan has a broken piece, we had to get mobile rv tech to secure it until we can get repaired under warranty. The side window leaks. We have only had a bad enough rain one time for this to be an issue, but again, will get repaired under warranty. We now have a short in the couch/bed motor that will need to be repaired. For now we have to sleep on couch and lower dinette for second bed. We hoped we would not have issues, but unfortunately it is common in new RVs. We will see what the warranty experience is like but so far communication with Chinook seems very positive.

Overall, we like this RV and the ease of travel.
