1998 Concourse Toilet leak repair?

My 1998 Concourse toilet just started leaking the last trip we took. appears to be AT THE PEDAL you step on to make it flush. It does NOT leak anywhere,anytime unless you step on the pedal. Looks like it coming from around the pedal. Any suggestions how to fix this? Is it just a seal or o-ring?? Are parts available for this or do I have to buy a new toilet?? I leave in 2 weeks for about a 3-4,000 mile trip! I need this fixed before I leave. Thank you in advance!

sounds like a control valve, normally they are replaceable, just need to identify the model to order a replacement

Clay, Thank you for the link! Do I have to remove the toilet to replace this? I will be working on it today.

I think you might be able to replace it in place but it might actually be easier and certainly safer to remove it. There is a plastic shroud that you open by inserting a blade to unhook, then it 4 nuts and the plumbing which you have to disconnect from the valve anyway.

The valve is under spring tension, and the pedal interferes with the wall when removing the pedal and valve. I wound up breaking my toilet base when I was repairing it in place, and eventually had to buy a new base.
Once you've taken out the toilet once, it is a pretty easy process.

Thanks Clay, It turns out I have a porcelain toilet and it is made by Sealand and model TRAVELER. Looks different from other DOMETIC toilets but... when I called their toll free number They answered the phone DOMETIC? Anyway, they were closed. I assume this is the original 1998 toilet because I only had 30,000 miles on it when I bought it AND the Sealand/Traveler book was included in all my original paperwork. Not sure what to do now??

Dometic bought Sealand, but I am sure you have the same porcelain toilet as my 2001 Chinook, the Sealand 511, and that valve should work.

Clay, i did order one for a 511 like yours. The book had measurements to tell which one to order. Part was only $19 but... its taking its time about showing up on a tracking #!!
