Additional Seatbelts?

Post by Ginefka »

Just buying a 1997 Chinook Concourse and wondering if we can legally install seat belts in the club chairs and couch? We have found someone who can do this. Does this sound like a good idea and is it legal?

There should already be three sets of seatbelts behind the sofa. The club chairs probably do not have a sufficiently strong mounting to meet safety requirements for seatbelts. The Dinette seats had seatbelts bolted to the floor, but the club chairs have a swivel base screwed to the box.

Yeah, the club chair is not meant to be used when the rig is moving. You may want to get the dinnette version with more seat belts but some people feel that they are not that safe either.
