Ok so last night I was walking out to the RV and I heard a noise like the generator was running, I knew I didn't leave it running so I started checking and it was the onboard compressor. So then I ran my hand around the slide and I could feel air rushing out right in the middle on bottom of slide where the rod pushes out. The compressor was hot and I couldn't find a breaker for it on the inverter or fuse panel so what I did was there was a fuse connection inline right next to the compressor, so I pulled that fuse and it shut off. I hope that doesn't ruin anything. I don't know how necessary that bladder is and or how hard to fix. I actually can't see the seal from inside or outside. My Chinook has had quite a lot of work done prior to me buying it and one of the things I remember is the computer and compressor for the slide was one of the big things costing something like $15K. I don't live close to the company that originally did the work but I am not sure if it would be worth calling them and asking if they could help? Any tips? Its a 2004 Chinook Glacier 25Ft. I have had it for about 2 months now. Also i have heard these rigs are air ride equipped. Will this effect the driving/shocks?
Thanks

Ruptured seal/bladder around slide
Re: Ruptured seal/bladder around slide
The fuse you disconnected is the proper way to shut off the air compressor.
The air bladder is necessary because it is what seals the interior from wind, rain, etc.
Earlier Glaciers did have air bags. They are in addition to the regular Ford shocks.
Another Chinook forum that has Glacier forum members is the Chinook RV Owners Forum.
On that forum there has been a lot of threads on the slide bladder and its repair/replacement.

Ok, is that the Facebook group? Because I can’t find any other chinook forum with a google search?
Re: Ruptured seal/bladder around slide
There is a facebook group, but that is not the Chinook RV Owners Forum.
Google Chinook RV Owners.
I am sorry but I do not know how to post internet addresses.
