converting to LED light fixtures

Hi...I have a 2001 Premier. I got some LED bulbs to replace the OE bulbs and they didn't work. So I thought maybe the fixtures were "built" for LED so I bought new LED fixtures...exact same appearance, etc. I installed one: one black and one red (which I connected to the RV's white) wire...and still it wouldn't work. Any ideas?

In the Chinook wiring, DC ground wires are generally white. You probably have the wires reversed. You should check with a voltmeter to verify 12V power.

I have not open mine up, so take this comment with a block of salt. Isn't there is a ballast of some sorts that convert the 12 V DC to high voltage to drive the florescence bulbs? I don't think it will work if someone try to use the output from the ballast on LED bulb. This is why I think a link to the LED DIY will be helpful to know what the right steps are.

Same for posting question.... I have no idea what bulb you got to replace the original bulb... did you get LED bulbs for 110V AC or 12 V DC? and what type of fixture you got? I assume what you got the right voltage, and just a matter of polarity issue as Clay suggested.

In my Premier I simply installed LED bulbs in the old 12v fixtures.

Thanks for everyone's replies...and yes, it was operator wiring error! If I had only read the instructions!
