Dump station direction

We just bought a 2018 Countryside. In dumping the gray tank the red light by the switch started flashing and we can’t get it to stop. What do we need to do? Also we don’t know which way to push the black switch. What do ‘up’ do compared to ‘down’? Sorry for these very basic questions but we can’t find any instructions in the binder. Any directions will be very much appreciated. Thanks.
