Need source for spare wheel cover

Post by Chinookers »

When my 2003 Premier was in for an oil change and brake check the service technician managed to back it into some object, damaging the plastic cover on the spare wheel. Now I need to find a replacement plastic cover. Any ideas on where I might find one?

The service shop owner tried to find a replacement but couldn't locate one. He said he will reimburse me if I can find one. Of course I'll also have to replace my travel map. What a total pain in the rear!

Here's a pic of the Premier showing the spare wheel cover before it was damaged.

There a few places I found on internet, you may have to get with band as well but I didn't look without....

Try calling these people to see if they can sell the plastic insert separately. This is a number provided to someone who wanted to buy the ring separately:

give us a call at 720-315-3912 M-f 7am to 3pm MST

How aggravating.

I don't know specifically where to find one, but that whole type of spare cover is often called a "Continental" tire cover in case that helps with the search.

If I can't find just the cover, I would find the entire Continental kit, and ask them to either pay for it, or ask them to find the vinyl cover themselves. I think the entire kit is readily available.

Here is a place you may be able to order the dish only (or ring only):

http://www.v-sales.com/vscontkit.htm

It's an old website for RV surplus parts, but it has a phone number. 1-800-528-7953

ask for continental kit dish only.
