Tire load rating

Post by dougm »

Has anyone tried a load range D tire with 6 ply sidewall on their rig versus the 10 ply sidewall load range E?

I have not, but recently went to a Les Schwab for an inspection and they told me that I had 10 ply in front and that they were still good.
They also told me that my rears were not 10 ply and the load rating was incorrect as they were passenger tires, not LT, and an accident waiting to happen, so I bought 4 new rear 10 ply tires with the proper load rating.
