It won't have an inverter unless someone changed something. None was put in stock, and that's probably not a bad idea with the smallish battery bank and charging.
As far as the "converter" (I've never really figured out why they are called that as they seems to be just an all-in-one fuse/breaker box and charger, plus transfer switch). Anyway, that "brown box" should be on the cabinet under the kitchen sink (toward the shower wall) and has a brown metal cover with vent holes. The top half flops down on a hinge when you turn the little plastic knob.
On the left will be the AC breakers, and on the right the DC fuses. The charger is hidden behind the lower half of the door and the automatic transfer switch is behind where you can't see or get to without removing the whole thing basically. The charger section is what charges the batteries from either shore power or generator (that's what the transfer switch does - choose one or the other automatically).
If you have the stock system, and want to use an inverter, it's probably best to just use a small one you can plug into a cigarette outlet (say 100 watts or so). It's not that a larger one can't be added, but with the stock system there really isn't the DC power to support it, and if you are plugged in you already have AC. If you modify the system then of course it's different.
One note is that most computers, phones, etc. can be charged via DC (more efficient than an inverter anyway).
