Roof rack

I would like to put a roof rack on my concourse. Looking for a factory original . Does anybody know where I can find one or an alternate suggestion. The rack the company installed looks great and very functional.

Have you had any luck with this? I need something up there too, but haven't decided on details yet. I know I don't want to spend a lot on something custom. I'm open to doing a little steel welding myself and taking it to the powder coater. A little concerned with the weight of steel though (I tried learning to weld aluminum.. I still suck at it)

I was not aware that they had a factory option for a rooftop storage. Even if they did, I'm sure you won't find the original.
The few that I've seen mounted their Yakima skybox 16 or wider skyboxes on top of the custom rack setup they've drilled onto the roof.
Seen the setup up top and they were straight forward but never went with it because the whole idea of going up to the roof to retrieve something and back down is really not worth it for me; as I try to stay off the roof if I can help it. Furthermore, I was never fond of drilling ANY new holes on the roof for anything other than the stock setup.

Would love to see any new setup though.

The original poster said "roof rack" so I'm not sure what that means. The rail around the edge of the roof? Or the storage pod?

The 13 cubic foot Thule "luggage pod" was a Chinook factory option. The roof reinforcement was part of the coach but the pod, brackets, and installation were an option. I usually throw some fold up chairs, backpack, and leftover firewood up there. It flips open easily and is easy enough to load/unload.

Does anyone know from whom Chinook sourced the heavy duty roof racks? Mine got damaged in a storm in TN and has to be replaced, hence I'm trying to locate the manufacturer.

I don't know the source for sure, but I have in my notes that Chinook (Trail Wagons) sourced some of their custom metal work from this place. Maybe a lead?

That's a gorgeous roof rack. I'd like to know where you find one (when you do) because wouldn't it just look spiffy on my rig

Thanks for the info - I spoke with someone at ASAP Metal Fab earlier today - he did not have an answer for me but suggested I send photos to their engineering section, which I have now done. I'll let you know if ASAP turns out to be the source, and if not where I finally get the rack fabricated.

FYI, ASAP Metal Fabricators did make the original rack that came with my Premier.

They called it a "Baja Aluminum Rack", part number OFFR0125A.

In case you are interested in getting one, they cost $5,897.74 + tax + shipping
