I read that this handle should light up with one of the three switches in the rear. The rear most switch is for patio and step lights. The middle one is for dump valve area. The third one doesn’t do anything so I assume it’s for the rear step handle.
I read that someone took just the top bracket off but it seems impossible to do. So I will take the three screws off the bottom,
And hopefully the handle will be able to be lowered so I can get to any bulb that’s up in there on top, unless someone tells me it’s a bad idea. I can’t see any other way unless from inside access, where I would have to cut into the wall.

Not sure why my pics are sideways when I’m using my phone camera straight up!

1) When you use the phone in "portrait" mode (vertical), the photos will post sideways, AFAIK.
Try using it in landscape (horizontal) mode?
2) I just checked my switches. Mine is a '99 with a bank of three switches on the hallway wall between the bathroom and the door. (Later ones moved it above the closet and might have changed the functions?)
On mine the switches do the following:
--- The rear-most switch turns on the "porch light" by the entry door, the step light (row of lights on the threshhold of the top step), AND the handle light.
---The middle switch turns on a light that lights up the dump valve area.
---The forward-most switch turns on a second "porch light" that is on the side of the body under the awning.

Re: Chinook lighted rear step handle
I’m gonna have to label those since I will NOT remember that!
Or at least good direction for visitors...
Not sure what I did, but now all of them work!!!
Maybe good karma from Blue.

Yes I see what you mean. The good one is taken as landscape. Thanks.

Re: Chinook lighted rear step handle
I have no idea why but I think the step lights are so cool. Yay for all of them working! Nice!
Mine don't have labels either, but I just remember that the switch furthest "back" does the lights for the "back" door. I almost never use the other two, so I don't bother remembering them.
Did you leave Washington? It almost looks like it's not raining?

Chin, you have a good eye! Yes I’m still in WA, and the wet cover have it away! The lower step well is wet again.
Can’t wait for dry and warm weather!
