How to remove club chairs?
How to remove club chairs?
I made the decision to remove my clubchairs that are just in my way and do not use. I will figure out a sleeping situation after that. By looking at photos on this forum I see there are probably 4 bolts on each chair to remove. My question is...What is the best procedure for removing the bolts or screws because of limited room to work? What type of screws or bolts are used? do I take the chair off the swivel or do I remove the swivel from the floor box? We are leaving this Saturday to go to Dollywood for Christmas trip but will be staying in motels so I just want these removed to give us more room for now.

I don't have the club version, so take this with a block of salt. I would just remove the chairs from the swivel, and will work on the base if there is more time to spare. By removing the chairs by itself should already give you plenty of room in the rig. Maybe worry about the swivels after coming back from Dollywood and enjoy the trip for now.

Re: How to remove club chairs?
Thanks for the advise. I can already report a good update. I jumped right in and got the chairs and the swivels off. Previous owner told me they had those chairs out before when trying to modify their sleeping situation. Fortunantly when they put them back in to sell they only stuck 2 nuts on each chair and 2 nuts on swivels. Good for me now but all this time we had been using them only half bolted on!! Also they easily went out the back door with no problems. Yaaaay!! Yes, I will leave it like it is until I get back from Dollywood.

Well never mind then

What can I say Blue. I got REAL LUCKY. Had those seats and swivels out in 10 minutes!! Previous owner manufactured a 27"x11"x72" bed frame with foam cushions to drop down on the floor between the couch and the swivel chair boxes. Am thinking of putting a board to reach and cover one "box to the other "box" Then a piece of foam to make a large bed. And leaving the couch just in its upright position. Sound like a plan? I hate sleeping on that fold out couch!! While travelling the bed frame on the floor can be placed on top of the swivel chair boxes to allow plenty of walking room.

I could see that working. And I heartily agree on the original Flexsteel couch. I found it very uncomfortable and had to mod it.
Your idea will make a huge bed. That sounds positively luxurious (especially for two peeps).
