Hi everyone ,
I am new to the forum I just purchased a 78 Chinook Futura I am having some difficulty finding very much background info on our " Little Guy " ...
I have found very little info and was hoping that someone might be able to give me some more history , such as the number of this model that was manufactured and how long it was actually in production ?
Thanks for your help
Stephen

I am of NO HELP with giving you any information regarding your new addition. BUT, I am sure there are several members of this forum that will shed some light on your new-to-you camper ride. What I wanted to say, is it is SO COOL! Looks like it is in really pristine shape. Have fun with it, and you must post interior shots for us curious/nosy viewers. -Michele

Welcome!
I've never seen a Chinook like yours (futura type body on Dodge van chassis). I have seen Toyota pickup based Class C's with a similar futura type body though.
What's it like inside? Naturally we want to see!

Another vote for addition pics, That's pretty neat. Feel like it needs some CB antennas......

That must be a gull-wing door? Could that be any cooler?!

Re: New Member ( Looking for Info )
I don't think it is a gull wing. Here is one on a Toyota. The side entry door has two sections. It is not a Futura, but you got the idea.

It's a one piece door, hinged at the front looks like.

Right. I found one with larger pic. Sorry for making this more confusing than needed.

(edit: I also could have click on Steve's pics and get a larger verison.

Not sure how many were made, but this article (https://tincantourists.com/wiki/doku.php?id=chinook) indicates they were only made for about three years - 1976-79.
