Interior Facelift 97 Chinook Concourse 4x4

So it has begun. My fiancé and I purchased a 97 Chinook from her father. It has 4x4 conversion with around 55000 miles on it. We have plans to update the interior a little bit and have begun removing the upper cabinets. We have found this to be straight forward and a fairly easy process. In one afternoon here is the progress. Our end goal is to create a sprinter esque build.

Not sure how I missed this thread, but cool beans! I, too, replaced my upper cabinets (plus a few other things) and you are right - most everything is straightforward and accessible. Can't wait to see more!

BTW: Was your Concourse special ordered with the Premier windows? (Usually the Concourses have the parallelogram windows and the Premiers have the rectangular ones.) I wouldn't have minded that myself (but I didn't order mine new).

I'm interested to see what you come up with. What exactly do you mean by "Sprinter-esque" build? Less stuff inside? More modern look? Different layout?

We have been going back and forth on things but ordered a bunch of stuff today. We have tweed coming for the walls, to be upholstered, we have vinyl nickel flooring coming to replace the carpet. I will be ordering 80/20 for the cabinet frames. We are going to decide on the cabinet faces after we visit her dads cabinet shop and see what might be lying around, then we will have them use the CNC machine to cut us what we need, might be able to find some hardware there too.So over all the look will be more modern. We are thinking of taking out the swivel chairs in the lounge and building a couch so that when you fold out the bed it is a bigger bed. After looking at some things it is a premiere all the decals are stripped. I have attached a picture of the outside.

As you can tell, we're all ears (and eyes), and would enjoy anything you'd like to share. A number of us have "dug in" a bit with remodeling projects so we might be able to answer questions, should you have any. Most of all we just want to see, of course

I've often thought about two couches. I started with the club lounge (couch and two upholstered chairs) but have at various times taken out the chair (or both chairs) and experimented with combos of desk/chair/long desk/storage. Never done two couches though (yet ). That side is kind of up for grabs as there is not as much stuff underneath (the furnace, but that's easily removable). Whereas the couch has plumbing/water heater/etc. so is a bit more involved to change.
