Can someone help me identify this sweet monstrosity?!

Hello, I'm new to the group. What I have is not a Chinook per se, but I'm having trouble identifying it. It's made by a company called "Sierra Vans" (which I can't find ANY information on), model year 1979-- square front Dodge, all fiberglass class C, 1970s futuristic style, visually somewhat similar to the Chinook Futura and the Toyota Omega, etc. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Sorry it's not an actual Chinook, but this seems like a good forum. Thank you!

That think is so awesome, we'll give it honorary Chinook status. Did it not come with a title? In chinook's there's usually a sticker on the back wall of the closet that gives detail about the RV conversion. Maybe check there?

Dig those "side" windows in the transition between van and wide body.

I can see where finding info would be tough. Doesn't help that GMC has a van model named Sierra.

As Manitou said, feel free to hang out with us. Definitely has a Chinook/Futura/etc. vibe. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to see more. And maybe someone else here will know something about it.

Thank you for your replies! I'm in the process of obtaining a title, arranging a tow to a storage/workspace, and finding said storage/workspace... an uphill battle to be sure. As it happens, I have another Chinook "wannabe" (Mobile Traveler compact C) that I'm working on for family adventures.. But it would be a shame to let this unique specimen go to waste, as some of the other potential buyers were just looking at the chassis cab, or scrapping and robbing the 440/727 drivetrain. I'd like to keep as much of the original vibe as possible, but as it's mostly gutted inside and there's very little info on it, I may have to go with a custom theme. It originally had electric retracting steps, and some oddball features etc. Still has the overhead lighting integrated into the ceiling that uses 1157 bulbs for dual brightness settings. It had two closets, one fore and one aft, but the front is gone. The build info was probably in that one...

That looks cool. The over-cab bed is a nice touch, same for the side entry and rear bed/dinette lounge. Definitely unique.

That's definitely the same company! I do like the layout, and I think it could be further tweaked for practical use. Still waiting on other people, so we'll see how it goes. Just wish I knew more about this mysterious alien travelcraft in the meantime..
