Chinook RV

Got a question. In the overcab space of my 2002 Destiny 2400 there's a wire on the left side with a funny plug on the end of it which I've pictured. I'm trying to identify it, looks like a 12 volt line, It appears to've attached to a four-pin connector of some kind on the back of some device.

On the opposite side of the same compartment there's a similar power line with a plug on its end with a two-wire connector. Again, it's suspected of being a 12-volt line. Both have attachment clips on them. Together, these probably are great sources of power for 12-volt tv's, etc, especially if I can locate their fuse numbers.

I know that many of these mh's have had multiple tv's, receivers, cd/dvd players, etc, over the years and I suspect that's the reason for these being there. Anyone know what these attached to originally?

I bet someone will recognize those connectors.

Another thing I found, at least on my Chinook, is that the color coding of the wiring is very accurate when compared to the wiring diagrams in the manual. Also, most wires end up the same color they started with a couple of logical exceptions.

I have a different and older model (1999 Concourse), but I'll relate something I found when I had things apart and could see all the wiring. First of all, I did have the TV (orange wire) in the driver's side of the overhead, and the VCR (black wire) in the passenger side. There were also stereo speakers ("clear" speaker wire) and a car stereo (green wire). That was all as expected because it matched the wiring diagram from Chinook and also the wires at the fuse block.

But I also found two yellow wires - one on each side of the overhead. These were not connected to anything in the overhead (and were not sticking right out into the overhead obviously before I started poking around. These wires didn't end up anywhere in the fuse block either. BUT, when I took the sink cabinet apart and could get to the wiring bundles (in black loom) just before the fuse block (brown box power center, which I removed), I found the other ends of these two yellow wires, neatly taped up. My best guess is they were for a future or optional surround sound or similar type thing (since one went to each side of the overhead). They were fairly long/skinny wires, as are many of them, but I may still come up with a use.

Not a direct answer to your question, but figured some bits might help.

That looks the same as the connector on the left side that went to the KEC brand 12v TV that came stock in my 2004 Premier. Although the connector appears to have 4 pins mine only had 2 wires (black/ground and red/hot) going to it. I quickly replaced that TV with a flat screen and used those wires to power a 12V outlet in the overhead. The VCR on the right side had a similar 2 pin connector I used to power the Double Din DVD/Radio I replaced it with.

Great answers, both helped! It's great to have two unused 12-volt leads up there, of course, especially so as I'm getting ready to get rid of the 120 volt, generator-required tv. I guess I'll pop in an inverter to power the DISH receiver, they don't seem to take much juice.
