For a (thankfully short) while I had a strap through the two handles and then tied to the oven handle. Hardly elegant! Then I discovered that Dometic made "Airing Position Cards." That's what you'd name them to make their function obvious and make them easy to find, right?

I'm sure this is common knowledge, but when a refrigerator is not in use, it's good to prop the doors open to keep air circulating and prevent mold and stale odors (even if it is completely clean inside). Well, if you are anything like me, you would prop them open and then they would either end up closing, unbeknownst to you -- or you would drive off forgetting to latch them closed and they'd fly open
(not that I would know anything about that).

Well, they have a silly name, and are a bit hard to find, but they work fantastically. The doors stay propped open, yet are held in position so they don't "fly open" if you forget to close them. The cards clip onto the handles, and then you just depress the tab end slightly and the doors open and/or snap into place with the perfect "airing" gap. The cards are lightweight and store away in a sliver of space. Here are photos in case you want to get a pair (each door takes one, so two total, but they seem to be sold individually). Or maybe one could make something similar.

Re: Keeping Dometic refrigerator doors propped open.
The two I have came from a friend, but they seem to be Dometic part #3312986.403, formerly known as part #3850781018.
I guess I could use an "iron flat" setting in my photo program to get the wrinkles out

These were hard to find online. I finally located them at Dyers RV Parts and Accessories for $9.44 each which seems a lot for a piece of plastic but the convenience would be great. I continuing have to open and close the frig doors when I come and go when it is stored in my driveway. The shipping was also very expensive for two small pieces.

AmyJo,
I noticed the same thing. I also saw them on eBay and another RV site, but they were equally expensive (although the eBay ones had much cheaper shipping). Kind of a rip for two little plastic cards, but I was going to buy them anyway just because I knew that the convenience would be appreciated after the price was (mostly) forgotten. Then as it turned out, some friends had a pair in a drawer in their rig that they didn't have a use for, as they no longer had a Dometic refrigerator (but while they did I guess they never realized what the cards were for). I gladly snapped them up
I'm actually thrilled with them all out of proportion to what they really are - but it's just so nice to not have a stupid strap there, or just have them hanging and hope they don't move or I don't forget them, etc. And hey, they're blue!
