Didn't make New England foliage tour but...

My plan was to leave Hershey, Pa and go experience a New England fall, something I've wanted to see. My timing was wrong so we just drove around for a few days and headed back to South Carolina very slowly. The first two pictures are from Google Street view. Why? Because I just didn't think about it until I was at the second picture. I should have read those weight capacity signs about ten miles ago. This is just outside of Front Royal, Va. on Hwy 624. I crossed the Shenandoah River like I never expected.

Lexington, Va was a pleasant 'wrong turn' experience. VMI, Washington and Lee University, Lee's crypt and several nice places to see. All within walking distance.

Monticello. I find it fascinating that Jefferson didn't mention being president on his monument.

All in all we had a great road trip plus we got to see a bit of color in the trees. Lancaster County in Pennsylvania was a hoot. By the way, I saw another Chinook outside of Hershey on our way to Lancaster. We waved. Was it you?

Nice trip report - thanks for taking the time. Lots of history and good scenery. Don't see the green Chinooks that often - I like that color.
