Generator Fuel Pump

Post by rcrboy »

We just purchased a 2002 Concourse and was looking at the under body when I noticed an electric fuel pump attached to the bottom of the coach going to the generator. I thought these KY Onan generators had their own fuel pump and filter within the generator enclosure. Could this possibly be an additional fuel pump someone added on when the generator would not start for them or is it factory from Chinook?

I have never see it done by the factory, so must be after it got out of the dealer lot. Maybe the previous owner was too lazy to get to the original pump when it failed, and decided to add one there. Everything is good until it came off by accident, and you will end up with empty tank and/or fire under your chassis.
