So, early in our trip we discovered our toilet bowl seeped out a bit of the yellow stuff around the base when the lady would use it. So after a mad google and deep forum dive I had both the upper toilet seals and flange seal replaced (genuine dometic of course). Was working great for past week or two, but just got a report from the stern that our yellow visitor is back. Should I just trash this toilet? Or caulk the living hell out of it?
The plastic pedestal cover around the base is split and was being held together by tape, but by my estimate that shouldn't really cause this problem. Please help, this is gross!

If the toilet leak, then it would have the same problem when there is nothing but water in the bowl, right? Does it get wet around the base when no one is using it? If it is always dry (with water in the toilet to seal the valve), except for when people are using it, maybe... and I politely emphasis the word "maybe".... someone was not aiming it and make it to go over the bowl, and into the floor?
Flush the toilet, and put some more water on it to seal up the valve. Add a few drops of food coloring (maybe use blue color?) and see if it leak out. If you see nothing, add some more water, and flush it down. If still no food coloring on the floor, then it is someone who don't know how to aim.

Maybe flange or seal got pinched in reinstall, I would try again then probably get new toilet. I am not sure I would trust caulk to keep oders out.
I have toyed with idea or removing black tank and putting cassette or composting in, if I had your issue I would seriously consider this. Earthroamer and Earthcruisers come new with these toilets and these vehicles start around $400k. I may change mine out eventually anyway...just because.

Ok I tried the food coloring trick and nothing. Nada. No leak. So...I think it's time for me and the lady to have...the talk. *gulp*

I also toyed with the composting. But was discouraged by a post I read on here that our tanks aren't in a good position to convert to a single big grey, and I kind of agree with the argument that it seems like a waste to have all this pre-setup plumbing and not use it.68camaro wrote: August 16th, 2020, 4:27 am Maybe flange or seal got pinched in reinstall, I would try again then probably get new toilet. I would ask her to do the little experiment, and let her comes to the conclusion herself. It is difficult to talk about aiming to a lady.grantandash wrote: August 17th, 2020, 6:23 am Ok I tried the food coloring trick and nothing. Nada. No leak. Maybe she will have different result when she do the experiment... I had in the past "temper" with these experiments to get it to work... but I think she will be honest about this.

My opinion too. In addition, if I want to deal with the compost toilet, I would get a Class B rig instead. It is like buying a new house, and hiring a plumber to disconnect from the city sewage, and put in a septic tank in the back yard. Every one have a different use case, but it is not going to work for me for sure.grantandash wrote: August 17th, 2020, 6:28 amI also toyed with the composting. Agreed Chin, one thing holding me off is resale. I think market for these rigs would like existing toilet/black tank. A composting or cassette toilet takes time to get comfortable with and most people would not want them.chin_k wrote: August 17th, 2020, 8:32 am It is like buying a new house, and hiring a plumber to disconnect from the city sewage, and put in a septic tank in the back yard.
