I need to replace the microwave. Any specific specs and process documentation or pictures available on this forum?

My 2001 Concourse came with the sharp model R-312AK, 1000 watt, 1 cubic ft. From the manual;

Outside dimensions - 20.5” x 11 7/8” x 15 7/8”

I have not found a replacement yet that will fit the opening with the face plate.

I replaced mine with a Sharp Model R 309Y from Lowes. Exact fit. Not sure they are still available. I did a thread on it. Using the search function will yield a few threads on the topic.

I think there is some people who can make you a custom face plate, but you may have to search for it too. It is easier to use the existing face plate, however.

I fixed the control panel a while back, and now the same issue came back. I will need to redo the fix again before I head out again so that I can see the numbers :(

I looked for this and it has been discontinued. I also could not find models mentioned in other threads.

I found a white R309YW on Amazon but not a black one. Expensive with shipping.

What I did when looking for mine was to remove the microwave and bezel and take the bezel with me to the box stores to find a unit that would fit.

I just bought and installed this one.

It fit fine using the existing faceplate. Only mod required was to drill a couple of small screw starter holes into the back of the new microwave to re-attach the faceplate brackets since they don't line up perfectly like the original microwave. Required tools and parts = small drill bit (slightly smaller that the screw OD and (2) small screw - which I think I just poached the needed (4) total screws from the back of the old microwave since it was going in the trash.
Super easy, less than a 30 minute job.

Hey all, just replaced old microwave with new Farberware microwave recommended here. Good fit, drilled few new holes in microwave and all set.

I finally installed the new Faberware microwave after almost two years. I actually learned fairly quickly that I didn’t need it and enjoyed the new storage space where it was supposed to be. I can heat up any microwaveable item using my skillet on my gas stove and it’s just as good if not better. Definitely simpler.

It didn’t quite fit the faceplate so I used wood stripping to fill in the gaps.

I’ve only tested it once. But it works and looks good.
