Bathroom floor grate

Hello all enthusiasts,
Here’s a picture of a job that took about a half hour and $-0-.
I salvaged an old teak floor section from a wrecked sailboat, re-sized to fit. 1” thick.

I love teak. I assume you will leave it like this, and not seal/vanish it, correct?

My wife and I were just talking last week about how much we hate our current bathroom mat. This is the perfect solution! Thanks Mainerv.

I vaguely remember something that can be brought online that looks like what Marinerv have for those of us who are less skillful in carpentry. Anyone have a link?

I would buy one in a heart beat, but I like teak more than bamboo, because it is great for outdoor/wet environment. Do you have any issue with mold or swelling in the bathroom, Clay?

Bamboo is more water resistant than wood. Mine is still like new after five years, dries quickly and has never had any mold or mildew.

Bed, Bath & Beyond also had a version that fit just perfectly (at least they did when I bought it in late 2014). Teak, similar construction style to the OP's homemade one but with a varnish-type finish.
(In case your teak scrap stock is running low or your sailboat is still afloat
)

Correct, teak oil is good, a varnish would likely make it slippery.
Someone posted a link to a bamboo bath may that is the exact dimension of the shower floor, which I suspect is equally good.
