Chinook RV

Hi all!

New member here, and I joined to do a ton of research before pulling the trigger on a Chinook. Great forum, by the way. No snarkiness that I've seen so far. I'm thinking the Concourse, but of course I start looking at extra space and tradeoffs. Always tradeoffs. So that leads me to my question about what appears to be a tub in the bathroom of the Concourse. And I've only seen these beasts in pics, not in person yet. What is the reason for it? It looks high, shallow, short and narrow. Was it designed specifically for bathing babies? I'm not being a smartass, just very curious, as it seems the space could have been better utilized for a larger shower area. Or do you stand in the tub part? I think I would have to put my feet end-to-end in that tub. I'm not a huge guy. 6'1" about 205. My wife is 5'11". Anyone our size able to pitch in on the showering experience? No, we won't be showering together. Get yer minds outta the gutter!

Secondly, if you don't mind, a question about the Glacier. Does the couch and dinette make one large bed like the Concourse? With the slide, I wasn't sure.

If I don't go the Concourse route, it would be the Glacier. BIG difference in size, though. This would be my first RV, ever, and I want to be sure I get it right. I suppose, worse case, I could always sell for the other model. They seem very sought after.

welcome to the forum. I'm not sure what tub you are referring to though. The wetbath in the concourse is what I'm familiar with. Maybe you are talking about a 70's model.. or a bigger model?

Thanks for the welcome! It looks like a very small tub. Maybe it's just a very large sink. If so, NOW I feel silly.

So, do you stand in front of the toilet to shower? I really need to go look at one, and stand in there. Do you have to be a contortionist?

The shower in a chinook is very usable space. i am 6'2 280lbs. You stand in front of the toilet, or you stand over the toilet. I sometimes lean over the sink area. For me there is very ample room because I am used to showering in my 1972 Aristocrat cabover camper. which is a 1.5ft by 1.5ft ( slightly exaggerated but its small) square you share a toilet with with just enough room to spin around. But before you buy I would heavily recommend finding one you can walk inside and outside of it and get a real idea of the dimensions,

I'm not sure where to begin on this one...so maybe start with a picture reference.

I think he is referring to the built-in sink. The room under neath it is not part of the bathroom, since there is a rear access panel for the storage area. I am not a tall person, and feel that the bathroom is a bit small for me, but it is usable.

usable but not comfortable pretty much sums up the concourse shower. I was always just happy to feel refreshed after a shower whenever/where ever.
