Ballpark price 2004 Concourse?

After looking at every kind of class b, I found what I sought in Chinook world!
Trying to make it happen with this Concourse in Texas. Especially like the leather seats, 56k miles, "garage kept", v10 service history at Ford dealer, Carfax is clear, but not so sure about 1100+ hours on genset and whatever other surprises.
But it's in Texas, 1000 miles away and the local rv inpection service doesn't do road test, so what price range allows for possible large ticket repairs?
I feel the sale/negotiation should be decided pretty well before I fly out there.
Any advice would be very welcome!

My advice is that you need to prepare to flying back, if necessary. It is not a good feeling to be "forced" into buying a rig just to drive home, if there were some unpleasant surprises. When a seller know your dilemma, it can be used against you when it come to negotiation on price, and what condition you are willing to accept. There should be no "home town" advantage.

I did not click on the link, so it is a general advice, not specific to the rig you are looking at.

If you go after it, be prepared to "sleep on it".
Get a room locally to see it with fresh eyes.

Hold your ground for your price.
Dealers can be jerks with a pretty wrapper.

Don't accept "extras".

My opinion is worth about what you are paying .....that said $46K is about what I'd expect a dealer to ask. To me it is about $10K high. Again that's just me. Good luck in your search!

(BTW if you buy it make sure they replace the missing wheel simulator on the front.)

That is one of the nicest units I've seen for sale. We bought ours with 56000 miles and the engine has been mechanically perfect, now going on 112,000 miles. It's pricey but you might wait quite a while and have to get lucky to find one this nice for much less $$. If it were me, I would ask if he would accept $35K and negotiate from there. At full price, I would expect the dealer to provide some warranty for unexpected failures in a short term, say 30 days or 10K miles, but honestly, I would expect this to be a reliable unit with that mileage and good service.

If it's in your price range and the floor plan you like, I would go for it.

You would probably want to upgrade some electronics (power converter, TV, stereo, solar controller, etc) as the factory equipment is dated in that area, but probably less than $1K. At that price, I would also ask for new batteries installed (our dealer did that on their own without our even asking). A good pair of Interstate or Walmart batteries are probably less than $300 in any case. Our Interstate batteries are now 5 years old and still working well.

I would also expect the dealer to demonstrate and fix if necessary the cabin features: air conditioner/heater, furnace, hot water heater, stove, awning, lights, plumbing, tires (and that wheel simulator). That is the advantage of buying from a dealer, and why the higher price might be justified.

As it stands, they lowered the price to 43,500 right off. I said I'd counter after seeing it. Problem is, now my schedule is too tight for me to go there in person. Nothing in writing yet.
Their technician who vetted it can do a driveaway/delivery. So, if it's a rattletrap he'll have to suffer for 1000 miles!
I've had many project fixer upper cars, bought cheap enough to allow for doing the usual repairs. Love my vintage Volvo 740s!!!

I just want a basically healthy rv to do mods. This has had nine oil changes in 56k, new tires in 2017.

I think $46k way high personally.....if it had 4wd ok, but otherwise I wouldn't. I drove 6 hours to PA to look at dealer sold rig and it was NOTHING as advertised, I got pissed and walked off lot. Pictures did not tell whole story. Just be prepared as others said.

I flew out to buy my 2001 and once home and fully inspected I did find surprises but overall I am very happy with purchase. If I had to do over aagain, I would have made sure "everything" worked, took owners word for nothing, and spent several hours going over, and using results to negatiate some off but price was good so I took chance.

At your price I would want perfect like new unit, without 4wd would expect to pay alot less. With that many hours on generator definitely check everything. But in texas with heat not surprising that many hours.

Also - check tire dates on every tire plus spare.......especially if you are driving home, if they are over 4 - 5 years old I would negotiate price down or new tires. If over 7 I would replace before 1000 mile home. *****Do not go by tread wear, it is dry rot and age that is concern**** Also if it has MorRyde system in rear make sure they are not ripped or torn.

Once home, upgrades are half the fun, but not repairs/unexpected maintenance.

For trip home get a Scanguage, they are very functional and super cool to see what your rig is really doing with performance, mpg, diagnostics, cost per mile, tons of neat stuff. If you buy before trip you get to understand how to use before going to get rig.

Tire pressure monitor kit is also super valuable to have. When I travel a tire monitor and Scanguage give 110% comfort all is well and will tell me when not before complete breakdown. I had blowout on front tire once, not fun but luckily I was on back road going slow.

I looked, test drove (it seemed to have engine issues, maybe a tune-up would help), but did you end up purchasing this unit?

Do you like your overall experience with this dealership?

Do you have pictures of this unit before you purchased it? Would you like for me to send them to you (really I took pictures back in October from Top to bottom).

In this unit, I liked the clean interior, and the white Thule storage unit on top. However, I didn't feel that it had the power compared to other Chinooks Concourses I have driven, and I wasn't willing to go over $35K. I did NOT like that they replaced the stairs (why, what happened to the stairs?). The generator had 1184.9 hours when I looked at it. That seemed like a lot of hours. At least it still ran. The gold and red, with the light tan leather interior is one of my favorite color options in a Chinook. I have also seen very similar in a Glacier. However, didn't like the gray dash, but I am finding that in other units. My Expedition has a tan dash, and wish they would have stayed with that.

I am currently talking to Crys, about another unit, I am supposed to put a deposit down on one now, but if you didn't pay $49K, then I have serious trust issues. I came over here to check on reasonable prices for a 2004 concourse, and I find you did the same thing back in October (this is an excellent site).

Originally, I also made an offer, but it was much closer to the $35K. Just this past Saturday, I was informed they sold it for $49K.
tal told me that someone from West Texas was bidding on it, and I simply don't want to get into a bidding war for the dealerships advantage. I felt if they wanted to drive all the way from West Texas to purchase it, then it should go to that individual.
