Chinook RV

My 2001 Concourse has the standard Flexsteel captain chairs for driver and passenger. The driver is power, but limited in adjustment, so I rarely use this feature. Both are in Sage Green fabric. And while they are in fairly good condition, it’s a color we’ve been trying desperately to minimize with our remodel. I already changed out the cab carpet with new OEM Grey. I had been shopping for over two years in search of suitable and inexpensive seat replacements. We wanted leather seats preferably in the stock Ford Medium Flint color to match the dash, console and door panels. Local upholstery shops wanted as much as a new seat to redo my original Flexsteels. New, basic vinyl seats start around $600 each. Leather models are much higher. Ebay and other online suppliers offer used seats at decent prices but shipping and condition were always an issue.
Snooping around on Facebook Marketplace turned up a pair of grey leather captain chairs from a 2001 StarCraft Pontiac Safari Van Conversion. After a 2 hour drive to Grand Rapids, I saw the seats…pristine condition: no tears, scuffs or blemishes! They included folding armrests, adjustable headrests, nice base "skirts", swivel bases and seat belt assemblies. Bought them on the spot. Got home, and removed the swivel pedestal bases (won’t work on the E350). These are made by Flexsteel with adjustable slider tracks and seat back adjustment, and have the same seat bolt pattern for the E350 bases. All that’s needed is a clean and conditioning. The driver seat is non-powered so I’ll have a 12v power source available. SRS emulators will be installed on both seats to bypass air bag code issues. I’ll make new headrest covers from some OEM vinyl to cover the embroidered “StarCraft” logo.

BTW: Both seats for only $200!!!! It was worth the wait. Now just need to clean and install...

I've toyed with the idea of swivel bases for a bit. It hasn't been a need yet. Cool feature if you have lots of people hanging out and maybe to open up the feel of the RV, but I haven't been able to justify the cost of new ones.

So are the bases you have a complete no go, or do you think they could be modified to fit?

The Flexsteel pedestal bases were for the Safari Van Conversion. So the floor attachment is totally different from the E350. I've been searching for "Ford E350 pedestal floor bases" that would adapt to the swivel part of the mechanism (which seems to be the most expensive part). While not a priority, having swivel front seats might be kinda cool.
Here's a pic of the removed pedestal bases.

It definitely seems like you could remove the pieces protruding from the bottom plate, weld a larger plate on and drill the appropriate holes for the E-Series chassis. They look to be pretty well built overall.

If you don't end up doing something with them let me know, I might be interested, and only an hour from you in SW MI.
