Water Pump advice needed.

I have a few questions if any one knows.
We have a 2000 Chinook Concourse. We think the water pump may be going out. It has recently become way louder and runs longer than it used to before shutting off. What do you think? Anything else be causing this?
Next question..... It is under the couch. How hard is it to replace one or is it better to take in to have done?
Thank you all in advance.

Duane

Here is a source for a replacement on Amazon:

Very easy to replace yourself.

Sounds like it could be the pump. Our original pump developed a hairline crack in the plastic and a leak. The replacement has been more quiet and possibly a little more powerful than the original.

It is very easy to do it yourself. Just four screws on the mounting bracket to detach it from the floor, and two fitting to loosen to remove it from the plumbing.

After you replace it, check for water leak by having it pressuring the plumbing (that is, turn on the water pump switch) and check for moisture near the fittings floor.

If you have more time than money, sometimes it is just the diaphragm that needed replacement. In that case, after you remove the pump, you take the housing apart, and replace the diaphragm and the rest of the hardware from the replacement kit. That is about 1/5 to 1/3 the price of entire pump.
