power mirrors not working 1998 Chinook Concourse

My right and left power mirrors stopped working.

I checked the fuse responsible and it is #4 on the 1998 Ford Councourse. And changed the 40 amp that was blown on the power box in position 9.

Both of these did not work.

Any ideas? I definated think it is a fuse and not electrical issue.

the # 4 fuse, was this in the added on fuse panel under the dash or the factory ford panel on the inside firewall by your foot?

the 40 amp fuse, just to clarify, was this one located in the distribution box under the hood?

On my Chinook (early 1999) the power mirrors are fused at the Chinook added fuse block. It is right in front of the Ford interior fuse block which is sort of in the driver's left shin area under the dash.

Here is a photo of mine. Additionally here is a sketch from the 1998 Concourse manual.

If you have replaced the fuse with the correct size and it is continually blowing, then I would expect a broken or shorted wire somewhere. Maybe in the folding part where it must flex?

As you can see from the manual's diagram, it is located in the lower right position, and should be a 5 amp fuse. You can't read the label in the photo of my fuse block but it's the gold colored 5 amp fuse in the lower right position. This is the Chinook added fuse block, btw, not the Ford one.
