My two group 27 deep cycle batteries are fried. Need to quickly replace before trip on Thursday.

Easy answer, just get two new Group 27 replacement batteries, but is it right answer?

What batteries are you running and are you happy with them? What about 6 volt golf cart batteries, anyone running these and if so are you running 4 to replace the two 12 volts? If so, do all four 6 volt batteries fit on Concourse slideout tray?

Mine came with two group 31's... i replaced them with two AGM group 31's soon to be 4

Some people use 6V golf batteries. I think all you need is two 6V, not four. This is because each of them have double the Ah of the regular marine 12v ones, so they are just as heavy, and you will have similar Ah and voltage with two in series.

I do not have them, so you will need to see if other can chime in. My impression is that they are taller than the stock battery, and it may be too tall to fit in without mod. I don't know if anyone used the non-flood version (AGM) and lay it side way to get them to fit.

I have two US Battery 6V flooded. They're 232ah each at 6V, so in series they're 232ah at 12V. Two or four are required for correct voltage. They must be vented and mounted upright, but they're a great value if you can find a home for them.

Avoid the marine type. You want deep cycle.

Scott, your US Battery is one I am looking at. To get them to fit did you take slide out? When I measured the 6v golf batteries, they were to tall to sit on slide and be able to pull out, but the battery compartment was tall enough to take them once they are inside.

My input is going to be by manufacturer. We are having really good luck with Interstate batteries at my work. We have a paratransit fleet and each bus uses two batteries either group 65 or 31's. Half the fleet are the 7.3l cutaways with wheelchair lifts and many lights so they get their exorcise everyday. been very happy with their lifespan with periodic maintenance ( checking each cell every 6 months for level and charge) We get a solid 5 yr lifespan outta them where before with centennial's / road warriors from NABS we would see 2-4 years and they had a bad habit of shorting internally with no warning. If you can afford the little extra, would highly recommend

Camaro, sorry I can't help you with fitment. I should have been more clear in my post, but I'm typing from my phone which is laborious.

I didn't/don't have a battery tray. The original house battery was a single 27 under the hood which I removed. I put the golf batteries in the generator bay (no more generator). I'm not sure how much they've decayed to date, but I've run them pretty hard for almost three years and they're still great.

See what others say, but if you want the best, look into the Lifeline AGMs. Military spec, but priced accordingly.

I need to replace my two group 27's tomorrow, I need to go cheap as I am just beginning process of upgrading electronics/solar so I only need something to last thry winter at most.

Walmart doesn't have group 27, but does have group 24 deep cycle in stock. Will I be OK putting group 24 in Concourse as temporary measure?

It won't hurt anything, but for a smaller battery, you may not have much power reserve. If you don't really need the deep cycling, it is a waste to get two and only use it for the winter. What is your usage scenario? Are you going to do off grid for at least a day or two, or you are going to be going form power post to power post? What will you be running off the batter(ies)? Maybe possible just to put just one old regular auto battery in there if you never going to need much battery power... it really depends on what you plan to do.

Chin_k, I went to Walmart and bought two group 24 cheapies for total of $157. I am going to Overland East, leaving Thursday and returning Monday night. During time there rig will be stationary but I can start up to charge batteries a hour or two a day if needed, plus solar works.

I only need house batteries for water pump, house lights (flouro), coffee maker, radio and charging ipad/iphone. Refrig I will run on propane and for heat at night I bought a Mr. Heater Buddy and will run on 1 lb bottles. Not sure if two group 24's will run microwave for popcorn at night.

Do you think the two 24's will handle what I described?

After Expo goal is to really upgrade electrical/solar.
