No 12V in Coach from Battery bank when In Use switch is On

Hi all - I've never posted here before. I've searched/read all the electrical posts, but haven't found my exact problem. So I'd appreciate your help.
When the 'In Use' ceiling switch above the driver seat is on (and the Green LED is lit) there is no power in the coach from the battery bank. When shore power is connected or the generator is running, 12V power in the coach works fine.
My Chinook is a 2001 Concourse XL with what I believe is a stock configuration.
I installed two new group 27 deep cycle batteries (Fall 2017) and their voltage is typically at 12.75 without load. They show a charge voltage greater than 13.5 V from the truck alternator and solar panel controller and from the brown box power converter when it's connected to shore power or the generator.
The ground circuits that I've been able to trace to the frame all seem solid.
Brown box power converter DC fuses are good and AC breakers do not trip.
Looking at the power circuit diagram in the Chinook owners manual it seems that the fault could be with the 'In Use' switch, the 12V 15A breaker, the 12V 50A breaker, the LVD or cables.
My problem is accessing these components.They are mounted forward near the exterior wall on the floor behind the sofa-bed on the driver side. The 15A breaker is mounted low on the fabric pillar behind the driver seat. I haven't located the 50A breaker. The LVD is a silver cylinder (definitely not like the ShorePower LVD that I've seen pictured in this forum.) I've removed the fabric cover on the far right side of the sofa-bed to revel 15A breaker on the wall and the LVD on the floor. So they are visible but not accessible. I can barely touch the LVD from under the sofa-bed with my arm to the right of the hot water heater. The silver can is very hot to the touch. Its terminal posts are not accessible with tools.
So my questions are the following.
1) is the LVD the likely cause? If so what work arounds exist?
2) do I have to remove the sofa-bed to gain access to the LVD? If so how is that done?
3) where is the 50A breaker? The battery compartment is clean - no components other than the batteries on the sliding tray. All cables feed thru two holes on the left.
I would really appreciate any advice you can offer.

P.S. All appliances/systems work. Although I had to replace the A/C roof unit controller board and the Fantastic Fan drive motor.
