Replacement of lower rear side marker lens

We are having trouble finding side rear replacement lens for 1979 Chinook. They are approx 3" x 5" to accommodate a twist in socket. Any ideas?

I have a 2000 Concourse, so my marker lights may be different, they are more like square 2" x 4", with a socket behind that inserts into the wall of the fiberglass. But just in case, here is the info.

The Optronics website has lots of marker lights. You should get up on a ladder, measure exactly, and see if you can still make out the model# - usually in raised characters on the light, you can run your fingers over the light to find it and then you need to try to look at it from various angles, maybe with a flashlight, until you get an angle that reflects in a way you can read it.

I'd agree with Bob. Unless you can find another Chinooker here with your same year and chassis (or close), you are probably better off comparing what you have to what is available new. As mentioned, Optronics is one company that makes quite a few. There is also Peterson, Bargman, and Grote - to name a few off the top of my head.

On my later year model, a Bargman was used that started to get a bit hard to find (or was $$$). I found a Peterson that matched exactly - literally the same light. So it's possible.

One thing to note is whether or not your particular marker light has a built in reflector (i.e. if headlights shine on it at night, it will "glow" even if it is not on). The ones I referred to above did, which made it less common than a non reflectorized one. (The reflector quality does mean I can always find my Chinook when driving in at night in another vehicle )

Thanks, Blue, I didn't mention that they are reflectorized. I've heard that some reflectors are required on RVs and trucks, so if you currently have reflectorized marker lights and change to non-reflectorized, I think you may be required to add some reflectors (at least in some states).
