Why you hustled through NM/AZ on I-40 yesterday (excellent move on your part!)

This is from today, marking ice/snow, crashes, and vehicle slide-offs. That's I-40 running across just above the middle. No thank you!

This is 89a, but you get the general idea. I-17 and I-40 in Arizona today are similar.

Is anyone else half expecting an update along the lines of, "Oops, I was so in the groove I just kept going and overshot my destination. At North Pole now."

Not the North Pole, but the weather was so nice that driving was enjoyable, and I got home at noon today. No rain!
Took naps at rest stops and kept moving when I would wake up.
This was a great trip weather wise except for that little hiccup in Albuquerque. I enjoyed driving through the states as well.
But I am tired and will recover for a few days until I do some repairs on the rig and go out again.
I will start a new thread about that, but I’ll research the archives here before asking repeat questions.

The Great Mid-Winter Cross-Country Trip has successfully concluded. Yes!

Now on to the new threads (or additions to existing ones). After you've rested up :D

Why thank you for asking. That is The Door Stick™

We were having a discussion one time about how to "lock" the magnetic versions of the screen door and as it turns out, I had just had that same need and so had rigged up a door stick out at a boondock. So I mentioned it. Seems hokey, but it works and can be made just about anywhere with just string and a stick. I think it was kdarling (?) who wanted to see a photo and then suggested it should be my avatar. I used to have a photo of my Concourse in the desert during a moonrise (I know, yawn :D)

I don't know if your screen door will have the magnet system (mine does), but the thread started as a discussion of the magnet system that is on the screen door of some years. The plus is you normally just go in and out without having to operate a latch. On the other hand, when you do want to latch it (more than a magnet)....

There are photos about 2/3 of the way down this page:
