Which amp Pro Dynamic do I need??

I did get a call back from the Progressive Dynamics Tech Support. Their own tests indicate that it would take around 30 hours for the PD4645 to charge a set of Group 31 batteries like mine with Charge Wizard on automatic...and that it could easily vary depending on such things as the state of discharge, age of battery, and temperature. The guy I spoke with said that the 50 hours it took mine to charge might be longer than expected, but not out of the ordinary. So, I'm satisfied that my PD4645 is functioning normally. Over and out.

Greeting All...I hope you are all safe.
We are on last leg of our journey home-back to Boston after 2 months in Colorado to be with new granddaughter. Took our time coming home via Wyoming (Big Horns), South Dakota (Rushmore and Badlands), Minnesota (Root River Bike Trail), Wisconsin (friends—outside at a distance in Madison), then booked across Illinois, Indiana and Ohio, with last hurrah in Allegheny National Forest and Catskills.
Now to my question—last night when getting up to go to the bathroom, I noticed (first time, or just never noticed..I can’t tell) that the PD4645 green wizard light was blinking every second or so. Noticed cuz Rig was dark. Not plugged into shore power and all systems functioning normally...inverter working fine and batteries holding charge (not drained). Is this green wizard light supposed to be on all the time? I had in my head that it was only an indicator of battery charging status when connected to shore power...but brief search this morning while having coffee seems to indicate that it is on all the time and I just never noticed it before. So I’ve come to you all—my trusted source for all things Chinook to set me straight. Help, Please. Thanks.

I just installed mine a few weeks ago and the book says it will flash every second or so while still charging but...when in full charge or maintenance mode it will still blink but only approx. every 8 seconds. That is what mine is doing now.

It will blink if it has battery power. It is not as wizardlike as you think. It be great if redbaron can give us a schematic of it like what he did for the OEM charger.

BTW, Dave, I think you should create a new thread related to your trip to your grandkid. It will be difficult to find it when the thread topics is about a charger/converter.

Flame and Chin_k, thanks for prompt responses. Glad to now know for sure that “wizard” led will blink as long as battery is connected, and not just shore power. I suspect I did not notice it earlier because batteries were full chsrged and therefore light was blinking only every 7-8 seconds. Last night when I noticed the blinking, my batteries were reading 12.5...hence the every one second blinking. I am home now, so hit the battery disconnect...and sure enough—light is not blinking at all. So, all good!
And yes, I will move my Tales of Cross-country Travels to Grandchild in the Time of Covid to “Around the Campfire” thread for the edification and delight of those who are interested.
