Two more states down with two more to go and that will be all 48 lower states. My spouse saw a movie in 1979 called Somewhere In Time and has always wanted to see The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island ever since. Off we go. Better late than never.

I'd like to request that you not stop traveling in your Chinook, but instead just keep on going, and going, and going (and posting to this thread).

My wife and I have now visited all of the lower 48 states and our Chinook has taken us to 44 of those states! Never thought I would be able to say of such a nice accomplishment. I ate my first serving of fried cheese curds in the shadow of Lambeau Field! How appropriate. Farms, farms and more farms. Thank you farm families for feeding us.

Hi Xatlatc - I just now saw your photos of Wyoming and South Dakota and we were just there. If your posting dates match the dates you were there then we were in Yellowstone just a week before you got there. The park had opened fully on May 11th and we arrived on May 14th. I had been there as a child and again in my early 30's but both times were in summer. Even back then the park was very crowded and traffic was horrible so we decided to go as soon as the park opened to avoid the summer crowds. We saw moose, elk, mule deer, lots of buffalo and even a grey wolf carrying a dead beaver in his mouth. Amazingly, we did not see even one bear. Just a note for others on the forum; the only RV park with hookups inside Yellowstone will be closed for all of 2019. They are having to repair the Fishing Bridge and will also be upgrading the park to add more sites.

One of the best suprises of our trip was Custer State Park. Beautifully maintained, RV sites were $30 a night and there was wildlife everywhere. On our last day we got to see the famous "Begging Burros", a small herd of 9 burros that have gotten used to people and can be hand-fed. Sylvan Lake was also amazing.

Well, we got home on Saturday night and its now Wednesday and I'm already looking at maps again. Enjoy your trip and keep posting.

Wow, that is fantastic! I account upper Michigan as the 49th state, so you actually did better than you think.

I stayed at Fishing Bridge last year with the Chinook, and despite the smoke from the fires, we were actually able to see Andromeda by the YS Lake.

Scott: I believe if I’m going to visit Alaska it will be via ship or aircraft. I need to keep the miles down for the next owner.
Paul: Yellowstone and Custer was great to experience. I saw another Chinook in the Yellowstone area while we were out sightseeing, maybe tan or brownish markings? The Wildlife Loop in Custer SP was a bit of a letdown to me because of the December fire. I bought a bag of carrots for the burros but never saw any.
chin-k: I bet seeing the northern lights was the cherry on your trip.

We waved goodbye to Michigan and said hello to Indiana. So here we are in Elkhart looking at all the RV shops and had to go see the RV museum of course. I may stop to see the University of Notre Dame in South Bend.
