Lovin’ our new Lagun table mount! It arrived in AZ just two days after ordering it from England! How is that possible? The top mount and side plate are extruded aluminum with slots. Paul installed 2 side plates for versatility (one near the sink and one behind the passenger seat). The table swings and raises and lowers. It’s a perfect little solution to our new layout. We just put a cheap Home Depot table top on for now.

Looks great and real nice use of space, well thought out.

I really like the cork floor look and recently looked into it, but unfortunately I wear my wading boots inside way to much to use cork...haha

bolerama... A quick question about the shortening of your slatted Ikea bed frame. Was the trimmed off portion at the foot or at the head of the frame? Wondering how the "tilted up" backrest felt comfort-wise with a shorter platform length.

Sorry for the VERY late reply (like one year too late!).
The trimmed off portion was at the foot of the bed. The backrest is the original length. The bed has performed very well. We used it for 5 months straight last winter and then for 3 more months this past summer. We logged more days in the Chinook than in the Airstream this year.

In the fall, we updated the mattresses. I'll post pictures. We were looking forward to testing them out this winter in the south, but the borders never opened. Sigh.

terriv, I got the ball light at a place like Lowe's. I can't quite remember. I think I was in Utah at the time. I've seen them in other places since then. It's plastic, so it does get light surface scratches in transit (even when wrapped and put in a cupboard).

The beds now have 4-inch mattresses and standard back bolsters. I ordered the foam from a local shop in Penticton, BC. The bolsters were very expensive ($180 CAD for 2), so I only ordered 2. This should work out fine for us.

Before this project, I had never sewn anything like this. My mother told me not to be tempted to make the covers even slightly larger, or they would look loose and sloppy. So, I made the covers to the exact measurements of the foam, and I think they turned out fairly well. However, I'm sure they will stretch over time. I had never installed a zipper, and now I've sewn in 4. Hooray!

We are full-timers, but since the border never opened this fall, we decided to rent a house for the winter. This gave me the space to sew. We move back into the Chinook April 1. We are looking forward to testing out the new mattresses and backrest.

Next projects will include ridding the Chinook of the dark oak. However, we are still unsure of what we will do. We'll keep you posted. We love learning from others, and we hope this thread helps you too.

The sewing skill is very, very nice!

I wonder how heavy are those 1/2 inch cork planks compare to weight of the carpet. I think vinyl is more dense than cork, and I am trying to find a lighter alternative than vinyl plank.
